New Construction

Here is how we construct your request for any type of tennis court you wish:

 New Har-Tru Tennis Court Construction

C.R.Peterson, Inc. will build a new Har-Tru tennis court on your properly prepared sub-base. We first install a perimeter brick curb around the border of the tennis court or tennis court battery. We then place and install the sprinkler irrigation system (6 or 8 heads per court), net posts and center anchor. Once these items are in place we install +/- 3″ of limestone screening sand and 1″ (+/- 40 tons) of Har-Tru surfacing material using laser-guided grading equipment. The Har-Tru surface is watered and rolled to initial compaction and new line tapes and the net are installed.

 New HydroCourt Construction

C.R. Peterson, Inc. will build a new Har-Tru HydroCourt tennis court on your properly prepared sub-base. We first install a perimeter brick curb around the border of the tennis court or tennis court battery. We then install the patented Har-Tru HydroCourt subsurface irrigation system, net posts and center anchor. Once these items are in place we install +/- 5″ of limestone screening sand and 1″ (+/- 40 tons) of HydroBlend surfacing material using laser-guided grading equipment. The HydroCourt irrigation system is “charged”, watering the surface. The surface is then rolled to initial compaction and new line tapes and the net is installed.

 Standard Asphalt Tennis Court

C.R. Peterson Inc. will build a new asphalt tennis Court on your property. We will contract the stone and asphalt installation to a sister company. Once the stone base and asphalt has been installed, and the asphalt has cured for 2 weeks, the color coating process begins. A patch binder mix is then applied to fill in the low areas. Two coats of acrylic resurfacing product are next applied over the asphalt to repair any minor imperfections and seal the asphalt surface.

Two coats of acrylic court paint are then applied, followed by the playing lines. Most new courts will require a four coat color system (two coats of resurfacing product, two coats of color product). You as the court owner can choose from a variety of different colors to match your tastes.

 Cushioned Asphalt Tennis Court

The cushioned asphalt court is first installed just like the standard but then cushioning system is applied between the acrylic resurfacing product and the acrylic court paint. Once the acrylic resurfacing product is applied, 5 to 9 coats of rubberized cushioning surface are applied to the court. This generally includes 2 to 3 coats of heavy grade rubber granules followed by 3 to 6 coats of fine grade rubber granules. Cushioned asphalt tennis courts are significantly more expensive than standard asphalt tennis courts.
